Hovan Gourmet

Hovan Gourmet is at the food court near my job (I work in the mall). I absolutely adore Greek cuisine, because it is so light and healthy, and the flavors just mesh together perfectly. I always get their Veggie Roll #2, which has tabbouleh (a Mediterranean salad made up of finely diced vegetables) and hummus. They also have side snacks, like Dolmades, which is grape leaves around stuffing, and cheese-and-fruit kabobs. Their Mediterranean salad is delicious as well, it has feta cheese crumbles in it. Yum.

Starbucks Chocolate Banana Vivanno Smoothie

This drink is amazing. My favorite fruit is the banana, and when mixed with chocolate anyone can tell you that combination is amazing (they'd have to be crazy not to). I love the fact that they give me a grande, which is the smallest size for this drink (though lately I've been going to Target where they have it available in tall). What I love about this is that it is not too sweet, and it has a taste that is not too indulgent and chocolatey, but very addicting. A nutrition plus?: They blend an entire banana into the drink. Score! When I go to Starbucks, I have to get this drink, it's almost mandatory.

Black Bean Deli in Winter Park

This place is right by my school, a perfect location when I'm craving something after class. I love it because it's local, and the same people are always there preparing the food. I've only been there twice, but I always order the same thing: The vegetarian tamale, with tostones (fried green plantains), and the side salad with the avocado vinaigrette. There is so much flavor packed in those tostones, and the tamale has a little bean taste which I just cannot get over. I can't say I'd pick a favorite among these, because I eat them all together in little steps. Eating them one at a time would make me (weirdly) sad, I just couldn't do that to my food, I have to eat them together!
But despite my weird habit, this has become my favorite place to eat, and I have made it a ritual to go every two weeks. I can't get enough of Black Bean Deli. Uh-oh! I think I have a new addiction!

Sesame Chicken at Chinese Restaurants

Recently, I found out the Sesame Chicken was actually unhealthy (deep-fried)! But I just can't resist the stuff! The best part of it is the sauce, it is sweet and savory at the same time (a concept that just causes me to adore all Asian food). Usually when eating out I eat about seven to eight pieces: I am ashamed to admit it is the one thing I crave when eating Chinese. Okay, okay, so I'm not an Asian food connoisseur, but Sesame Chicken is so addictive, the feeling is so wrong, but so right!

Late July Organic Dark Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

Damn..
I've always been a chocolate addict (I would eat an entire Cadbury's Fruit and Nut chocolate bar in one sitting when I was little). Now that I'm older, I decided to take better care of my body, so I frequently visit Whole Foods Market in search of healthy meals and snacks. I have found my fair share of yummies as this wonderful establishment, but the topic of this entry tops them ALL.
Searching through the snacks aisle, I came across these cookies. They have a resemblance to Oreos (except without the yucky cream filling), but since they only contain pure dark chocolate, they are much more nutritious. I became very interested in them because they only had eight grams of fat and 12 grams of sugar!!
I have to say these are so addicting, and although they aren't mocha flavored, they remind me of a trip to Starbucks to pick up a chocolatey bakery treat. They are intense (as it says on the packet) and don't taste too sugary, which is great because I don't like things that are overly-sweet. I loved them, and I bought them again another time.
